Some concepts are meant to be blank canvases. The strength of Slate is that it is pretty close to concept-less. Which means anything is possible and diners should embrace that. For the branding BoyBurnsBarn developed a custom type face made up of slabby shapes pieced together to form the letters of the logo. The final touch is a copper foiling to match the centerpiece oven found in the space. Clean stripped down menu and branding styling accompany the foiled branded pieces.
BBB feels the less is more approach is often under utilized and takes a level of confidence for most clients to pull off. It gave us a great opportunity to turn “SLATE” into “ATE” for the dessert menu. As in, you already ATE now you can focus on dessert! It’s those moments that made something so simple so much fun.
