PEE-WEE HERMAN ILLUSTRATION

As part of his recent and widespread resurgence, Pee-wee Herman / Paul Reubens was seeking an evolution of the original 1980's illustrations of the Pee-wee Playhouse TV show. BoyBurnsBarn worked hand-in-hand with Mr. Reubens by developing multiple illustration styles based on his innovative and unique vision of the world he created.

The future belongs to Pee-wee and the potential for such illustrations in future projects is endless.

Inspirations:
Beyond the iconic, rich source material we used vintage children's story books, the Sunday comic pages from long ago, the beautiful effect of off registration comic books, and a healthy sense of "what if we try this…" as our main inspirations in creating different and distinct representations of Pee-wee's world.
