5th Avenue was Redken’s first magazine. The design of the magazine was something that had to be done in a spectacularly short amount of time. Meeting high expectations and standing out from the company's standard collateral was the main goal. Using Gothic 13 as its main headline font, the publication has a bold visual language. New photography was shot when possible to appear more editorial and existing model shots were heavily cropped for a dynamic feel that gave the magazine the allure it needed.
After directing photo shoots, editing hundreds of photos and organizing a heavy volume of copy, the magazine ends up being a strong vehicle for the Redken brand. Bold color and interesting composition brings to life its content and goes beyond just being another marketing piece. Making its debut in Las Vegas at Redken’s largest educational event, 5th Avenue magazine was warmly embraced by attendees as well as industry insiders from around the world.
